My Mooney Steel:   Whilst on holiday in America in the Summer of 2000 I stayed with Tom & Linda Mooney at their home in Memphis.  Tom makes Pedal Steel Guitars and naturally I took the opportunity of  trying out some of them.  This further prompted me to consider buying a new steel. Once back home I kept in touch with Tom by 'phone and E-Mail, and we finalised the set up details for my new steel.  I decided on a Teal, double-ten model.  At the moment the pedal and knee-lever set-up is the same as my Sho Bud.  In the Summer of 2001 I once again enjoyed a short stay at Tom & Linda's and combined it with the collection of my new steel  I'm delighted with the guitar.  The colour is beautiful and the action is light, responsive and positive.  The sound is great and the body is 100% free of 'body drop' (How many steels can you say that about?).  Tom has provided a very generous number of alternative fixing/pivoting positions; which allows for a large degree of flexibility in the overall set up.  The instrument is superb on every level:  attention to detail, elegance of design, set-up options, quality of finish, sound quality and overall 'feel'.
